For the first time since the Covid shutdown, Cathlene Pineda’s quartet will reconvene to do a socially distanced LIVE performance of her new release, “Rainbow Baby.”

Cathlene Pineda’ third album, Rainbow Baby, will be released on Wednesday, May 13th. Please join her and her ensemble for the release concert at the Blue Whale in downtown Los Angeles.

In collaboration with the Weimar Film Festival, Cathlene Pineda, along with trumpeter Stephanie Richards, and guitarist Jeff Parker, will be live improvising to G.W. Pabst’s silent classic, Pandora’s Box at the Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles, CA.

Cathlene's second album on Orenda Records is being released on Tuesday, January 26th! Digital downloads and physical CDs will be available online, or come to the Blue Whale that night to hear the music and buy the album in person! 

"Passing: A California Suite" was written after a commission received by the Los Angeles Jazz Society to compose a piece about Los Angeles. The music is inspired by the poetry of LA's first poet-laureate, Eloise Klein-Healy, and each piece is based off of an excerpt of her work.
